Lame Front-End is a graphical interface for the popular and very fast MP3 encoder and decoder - LAME. It offers easy access to all LAME parameters without the need for command line usage. The program offers a simple mode (for beginners), which was designed according to the LAME authors guidelines (http://lame.sourceforge.net / lame _ ui _ example . php ) , and an advanced mode which reveals additional expert options.
What's new New version of the LAME encoder (3.98.2), support for XP visual styles, small source code modification & bug fixes.

Awesome Sauce! Very surprised this excellent GUI for LAME hasn't been reviewed here before. The GUI is plain, functional and easy to use. Lame.exe for the current 3.97 full release is already installed, *Bliss! no need to hunt for it. =)* it writes ID3 v2 tags to mp3 and supports drag and drop. It's ready to go on installation but the automatic simple mode won't suit most users. Just switch to expert mode, click on Lame/load Lame settings and make your choice before using the tabbed Lame settings option. The expert mode is definitely one of the easiest I've ever used. I thoroughly recommend Lame Front-End 1.0 to anyone who wants to use the Lame encoder/decoder with minimum hassle, it's great. =)
