 | | MenuTemperature is a simple application that displays some information on the system menu.
It has several operating modes, through which it can display the CPU temperature, the CPU frequency, or both. The default one is the CPU temperature, as the name of this program suggests.
From the 'Preferences' panel, you can set the refresh time interval, the displaying mode, and also choose other miscellaneous options. These options include the possibilities to automatically check for updates and also to start the program at the system’s startup.
In the Appearance tab, of the 'Preferences' panel, you can set some displaying options. The most important option is the possibility to pick between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature units. You can leave the automatic value, if the detection of the settings from the International Preferences is correct.
The usage of this program requires a 3rd party driver in order to detect the CPU parameters. This driver installs itself the first time you use the application.
Pluses: It is very easy to use, it provides useful information.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: this tool is something that you might find pretty useful.
version reviewed: 1.5.1 MenuTemperature Publisher's Description MenuTemperature is a small utility for continuously measuring your computer’s CPU temperature and frequency. It provides averages, minimums and maximums as well, and lets you set the interval at which gauging takes place. Current values are displayed prominently in the menu bar, as a status item, although you can decrease the font size if you find it too distracting, or if it simply takes away too much space. Either Celsius or Fahrenheit values can be displayed. System Requirements Mac OS X 10.4 or later and a supported machine. | | | | Download MenuTemperature | Screenshots
