| | Abexo Defragmenter Lite is a Windows utility designed to automate the defragmentation process.
The program will automatically run the Windows Scandisk and Disk Defragmenter in order to ease up and speed up the maintenance process. The program will perform all the requested operations automatically, and in the end it will restart your computer.
However, the program restarted my computer as soon as I hit the 'Run Selected Tasks' button. I opened the program, selected the drives I wanted to defragment, and set the other options: I chose to remove the Pagefile and the Hiberfiles, disable the screensaver, run Skandisk and optimize the drives. As for the drives' optimization, you can select between moving directories close to the top of the drive, move files out of MFT area, create free space near the top of the drive and consolidate files and free spaces (this step is useful only if you have a small disk). After I chose my options and started the process, the same thing happened several times: the computer restarted before starting the process. The program started doing what it was supposed to do immediately after restart. All the programs in the Startup section were put on hold, while the optimization and defragmentation processes went under way. After completing all the operation, the program restarted my computer, and I must say that id did a pretty good job.
Pluses: You can set the program to notify you on completion of operations by displaying a message and playing a sound. As a final step, you can choose to shut down, restart or power off your PC, which I find quite convenient: I can start the entire process and go to bed.
Drawbacks / flaws:You cannot set the program to run in the background and initialize only when there is no computer activity; You can not use this program on computers which need to run continuously. Since it uses the internal Windows tools, the program is not very fast.
In conclusion: Depending on how fast you want to defrag and optimize your drives, this program could be an alternative.
