MySQL Service Center is a tool for MySQL server maintenance and data backup/restore. It allows you to schedule tasks and scenarios to run at a specified time. There are 6 types of tasks that can be defined: backup, restore, analyze, check, repair and optimize. Scenarios are sequences of tasks that are performed one after the other. Each task has its own log and you can see if there were any errors on their last run.
You can schedule periodic backups of any tables in your databases. You have the option to automatically compress the backup into ZIP archives. The filename of the backup contains the date and time at which the backup task ran. Restoring data from these backups is just as simple: you define a task, set its schedule and pick a backup file to restore from.
One of this program's nicest features is the ability to connect through a Secure SHell (SSH) tunnel to the computer running the MySQL server. This means that your database data is always protected. If this feature wouldn't exist a hacker could sniff your network traffic and possibly get the data from your databases.
Pluses: Very good user interface and exceptional stability.
Drawbacks / flaws: Exporting task logs is not possible.
In conclusion: I would recommend this MySQL maintenance solution for all system administrators that need a fast and reliable way to make scheduled database backups and optimization.
