 | | Invisible Private Folder is a small program, doing a simple task. It helps you keep your files on your PC protected from other users. You can add any folder from your computer and make it locked and invisible. The producer claims that there are 2 user modes. One is the administrator mode, when you'll set a password and no one can access the program or your folders. The other one is with no password and anyone who uses your computer can access your folders. If they are locked, anyone could enter the program and unlock them. I can't see the utility of this second option.
While testing the program I looked for a 'Help' file or for a 'FAQ' file, but the producer doesn't offer any one of them. If you lock a folder and don't protect the program with a password, others don't have to unlock the folder. It's enough to remove the path from the list and your hidden folder become visible and unlocked. I've created a new folder during the tests and I moved some files into it but I didn't rename it, so it remained 'New Folder'. After doing that, I've created another 2 folders which were left with their default names (New Folder (2) and New Folder (3)). Repeating the locking procedure I was surprised to see that the program locked all three folders although I've specified only the first one (New Folder).
The user interface is very simple. Although the producer claims that it supports multiple users, you can't tell them apart. It can be anyone who uses your computer.
Pluses: Is useful if you want to keep your folders secured and away from others.
Drawbacks / flaws: It doesn't support secured multiple users. If you don't secure it with a password is practically useless.
In conclusion: It's an interesting program if you want to be the only one who uses some folders and set a password for the program.
