 | | Up till now all the wave editors include everything you need for a home studio. The only part where the programmers should work is the interface which should be much flexible and easy to use. Taking the example of the CAD based new applications which are trying to simplify the way of working, these waveditors are beginning to follow the same way. FlexiMusic gives access to all the main commands on the main window, some of them being hidden for gaining more space on the form.
FlexiMusic Wave Editor supports "wav","au","snd" and "raw" formats. With the help of an external command line encoder it can also read and write mp3 files. Unfortunately this is not integrated in the application so you have to install it as third part application. The good thing is that the publisher will provide you with a link to lame encoder, so after some clicks you will get it.
It Records and plays wave sounds from external sources like microphone or line in. It includes also a link to a free CD ripper application which will help you in getting music from your CD's.
Like all the classic wave editors, the whole work is done on a graphic which represents the wave form. By using the mouse you can copy, cut, paste or drag any part of the track. This allows you to edit in seconds any part of the track. You can play a song forward and backward with variable speed by using the tempo/speed panel. You can change between the left and right channels separately.
Possesses all the transform operations like reverse, invert, move up/down, forward/backward, channel mix, etc. Not to mention the special effects like equalizer, band pass/stop filter, noise reduction, echo, reverb, modulate, stretch, etc.
Besides the normal noise filters, you can draw the wave to remove the clicking sounds or to create other special sounds.
Pluses: all the commands on the main window; you can choose different color layouts to distinguish easily the wave; you can draw the wave with the mouse; gives you enough information to understand every command;
Drawbacks / flaws: no mp3 encoder included;
In conclusion: Includes everything that you need from a wave editor in a new way.
