If you want to have full control of any download process, you should get GetRight. Although this is one of the oldest download managers ever, it is still on top. Unfortunately it's not for free so this is a minus in comparison with FlashGet, one of the best download managers.

Still it can extend your downloading power by resuming broken downloads and accelerating them to make them faster and more flexible. The speed can be slightly increased if you have a high DSL connection, but if you have a dial-up connection you will not see any improvements.

Because speed it's not a quality for GetRight, it includes a lot of features, some of them unique to any download manager. One of them is the BitTorrent support. You can set GetRight to be the default downloader for this files.

Another feature is the scheduler for later downloads. You can schedule the start and stop date of the download and even to shut down your computer. The application has the ability also to dial your modem at the set time and shut it down.

Don't bother if you computer crashes. GetRight can recover such lost connections and restart the download process. It can use Mirror searching to find other places from where the file can be downloaded and then to use the best site. To maintain a constant download speed, it can download different pieces at the same time of the file.

In conclusion: Its interface and its price makes you to choose other products.
