 | | FlashPoint is a small MS Office plug-in which can be run from MS Powerpoint toolbar and provides support for converting Powerpoint presentations to Flash files. You can convert PowerPoint presentations to a single SWF file and convert them also into executable files. You can also convert a presentation into multiple Flash files: each slide will be converted into a Flash files in case you want to publish your presentation on a Web site and you encounter files size restrictions. The third conversion option is to Screensaver (SCR files). Conversion options include choosing an output layout (simple or classical - including ControlBar), play mode (Autoplay or manual play), loop presentation, character set (Western or non-Western). You can add background sound files in MP3 and WAV format which you can to before adding them to your presentation. The program even allows you to record sounds and set them as background. You can also set custom time settings for each slide. After the completion of the conversion process, you can preview the newly created file. The interface is actually a wizard which easily guides you throughout the entire process. Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: In the demo version we have tested, a couple of the output the SCR files did not display when set as screensaver. FlashPoint is only available as a Microsoft plug-in. Since it has flaws, it seems to be a little bit expensive.
In conclusion: A useful tool which helps you to easily publish your presentations on Websites or CDs.
