 | | MagicScore School 4.0 is the little brother of three music softwares, made by DGSoftware. It's a specialized notation software for students, teachers, schools and colleges. The notations can be created by recording an instrument from the input line, by editing by yourself, by opening .kar and .mid files or by just playing the virtual piano. There is also a notation checker included, so I think also the professionals might try this one.
The interface is Windows based, so the main commands are really easy to find. On the left side of the screen you will have the instruments which are selected from a MIDI data base and can be controlled by the volume and by muting them. In the middle you will get the staves window where the notes will be written and on the lower side the keyboard.
Pluses: You can print the exact staves that were written. A huge data base of MIDI instruments. You can import MIDI files that will be automatically notated with the correspondent notes.
Drawbacks / flaws: sometimes the notes don't stay where you want to put them; when you use very high or low notes and want to edit lyrics, they will interpolate causing confusion;
In conclusion: Very good fot its price.
