 | | AnyReader is a data recovery utility. You can use it to retrieve data stored on damaged CDs or DVDs, BluRay disks, LAN drives, flash memory, ZIP disks, floppy disks, etc.
Unlike the normal data copy procedure, where the data or files can't be copied entirely and the part that has already been copied is deleted, AnyReader will replace the damaged sectors with blanks and proceed further by reading the rest of the undamaged data.
The program is designed as a wizard, which will guide you through the entire data reading and saving process. First, you are prompted to select the source, like a damaged drive, scratched CD/DVD, or unstable network drive. You also have an extra option of merging the copies of the damaged files. This means that if several reading errors appear in the reading process, AnyReader will create several files, separated by the damaged sectors, and then will put these files together in order to approximately rebuild the original file.
The next steps are choosing the files and folders you need to copy, select the target folder, and start the copying process. After the process is finished, you have the option of opening Windows Explorer from within the program in order to view the copied files.
Pluses: You can manually set the number of attempts to read the bad sectors, as well as the pause interval between retry attempts.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: Easy to use interface, fast, and stable. It does a good job.
