If you need a good password for your server or you just want to protect your home computer this program can help. It generates random passwords depending on the options you choose. You can set it to generate passwords containing capital letters, small letters, numbers, or any combination of the above.

You can select the length of your passwords between 1 character and 20 characters. I really don't see any point in generating a one-letter password, but this program gives you that option too. Just to get an idea about how complex your password can be, I want to give you some hints.

If your password contains 9 numbers (ex: 860846401), there are about 1,000 Million possible combinations to test when using a simple brute force attack. This kind of password can be cracked. If you use brute force on a password containing 9 mixed-case letters (ex: WMyZGiSKm), your computer will need to test 5.4 Trillion possibilities. If you decide to protect something with a 9 letter password (ex: QBtZ5JGEe), containing both mixed case letters and numbers, it is impossible to crack that password in one lifetime. Of course, any of these passwords can be cracked by giving a lucky guess. However, this is highly unlikely.

Pluses: You can use it to generate powerful passwords.

Drawbacks / flaws: There's no way of using special characters in your password.

In conclusion: I can't figure out why someone would need a password generator unless it is used to generate multiple passwords for more than one user. But, this program generates one password at a time.
