'Softros LAN Messenger' is a stand-alone client application which helps you communicate or send files over the LAN at your office. It's an easy to use application because you only need to install it on every computer on the LAN and it is ready to use without needing any dedicated messaging server.
The program is very easy to configure and it automatically adds all the new users without asking for permission by refreshing the user list every few seconds. For the message itself you can make some adjustments like minimizing the incoming message to taskbar or you can choose the text size (there are three options: normal, large and extra large). You can send broadcast message on the network which can be previewed before sending it. You can edit the ports settings like UDP port or TCP port and the connection time out. The user interface supports eleven languages and it's very easy to work with it because is very simple.
Pluses: Easy to use and good looking. You can see the conversation history very easy.
Drawbacks / flaws: Doesn't accept smileys and you can't send files by drag and drop. It doesn't support large file transfer. I think it's a little expensive.
In conclusion: This is a very simple program and for a network that is not connected to the Internet it is very useful.
