 | | Remote Task Manager is a superb task manager that can show you plenty of information about the system it's running on, or about computers in the network. The user interface has no less than 11 tabs displaying open applications, running processes, system services, devices, events, system performance, and so on. This enables a Systems Administrator to control a remote computer without any hassle.
Among the program's features I would like to mention the ability to suspend, resume or completely end a process. Also, the user can view CPU and PageFile usage graphs when clicking the "Performance" tab. When you select the NetStat tab you are able to see the network status of the computer you are monitoring. Established connections are displayed in green color for the first couple of seconds, while disconnected ones are displayed in red. For each connection you have information about the process name, local and remote address and ports, and the protocol being used.
Another very useful feature is the "Security Patch Analyzer". It will test your system to see whether you have all the correct Microsoft patches installed. It will display information about each patch that is missing, including a link from where you can download it. I tried to download one patch that was missing from my system, but the download link wasn't valid.
Pluses: Nice looking dependencies, both for system processes and services.
Drawbacks / flaws: The documentation about remotely connecting to a computer running Remote Task Manager is not so good.
In conclusion: This software is one of the best task managers I've seen lately, but I'm still waiting for some minor improvements, mostly in the network related documentation.
