 | | 'DU Meter' is a tool for monitoring the bandwidth of your Internet connection. If you feel that your Internet speed has decreased lately, you can install this tool. It provides real-time information about the current transfer speed. The program displays a semi-transparent window containing a graph of your Internet traffic. The download speed is displayed with red and the upload is displayed with green. These colors can be customized to suit your desktop.
The current speed is displayed in kilobytes or kilobits. The information can be displayed as graphs, as numbers, or using both graphs and numbers. DU Meter can be set to start with Windows. The program has logging capabilities, so automatic startup becomes even more useful. If you set the program to start at Windows startup, it will record all your traffic.
The program generates daily, weekly, and monthly reports concerning your transferred data. These reports can be exported using several output formats, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Comma Separated Values, and plain text. The 'Network connection viewer' displays all open TCP connections as well as the listening TCP and UDP ports on your computer.
Pluses: DU Meter features a special stopwatch. It can be used to measure the data transferred volume over a period. The program is also able to notify the user when certain conditions are met. For example, you can set the program to display a message whenever 5 MB are transferred.
