 | | 'WinSurvey' is a powerful survey management tool. As you might expect, such a program doesn't come cheap, but in my opinion this software is worth it. Creating, publishing, and analyzing surveys are now easy tasks. WinSurvey's interface is nicely organized and each feature is easily accessible.
This software includes wizards to simplify your tasks and its user interface is organized into tabs, which represent the steps to create a survey. Beginners or advanced users can select the appropriate methods of publishing surveys and response handling. When you start the program, a welcome screen appears, allowing you to create a new survey or open an existing one. It's also possible to import answers from an e-mail client or from a POP3 e-mail server. I suggest you to use a template when creating your first survey. This way you can learn how to use the program easily.
The next step in creating a survey is defining all the questions and the possible answers. You can create multiple or single answer questions. Depending on what you choose, the program uses radio-buttons, check boxes, or text-boxes to allow you to answer each individual question. Once you define all the details of the survey, you can publish it on the Internet or you can save the files locally. You can also create an "interview disk". This way you can distribute your surveys to people who don't have access to the Internet. The "interview disk" contains an executable file, which displays the survey questions and allows you to select an answer.
I consider managing the results to be the most important feature of this software. The data gathered from people who took the survey can be analyzed using this feature. Statistics are also displayed along with charts and slideshow presentations about the answers.
Pluses: Each feature is well documented. The help topics can be accessed easily from the program's main window.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: My overall impression about this software is excellent. It really does what it's supposed to do and it's easy to use. If you need a survey making software, WinSurvey is a good choice.
