 | | QuickStart is a small startup manager. It's nicely designed and it stays on top of all windows.
When minimized, it runs in the system tray and you restore it by using the 'F4' hotkey. The program quickly helps you find items in the Start Menu, Favorites, Recent Files, Desktop, and History. All you do is enter a keyword and the program opens the file for you. In case there are multiple entries matching your keyword, you can choose the favorite one from the drop-down menu.
In the 'Settings' section, you choose which folders and subfolders to be indexed by QuickStart. You can also manually add or remove directories from the indexed list. The program can be also set to ignore file items that contain certain keywords, if you can think of any.
Pluses: You can manually enter the path to Mozilla Firefox bookmarks, so that the program will index that directory as well for future searches. The program displays the total of running processes, the page file size in use, the memory use percentage, and the amount of available physical memory.
Drawbacks / flaws: You cannot open folders in order to reveal their content or group files.
In conclusion: Avery good program which might save you time, if you know what you are looking for.
