'Abacre Restaurant Point of Sale', or in brief ARPOS, is among the best Windows based alternatives for MS Dos restaurant systems. It works with touch screen monitors and it uses images for menu items. I was impressed to see that the user interface in any language and it's so easy that even a novice could do it. You can customize almost everything. The features that are most used have shortcuts. You can transfer, split or divide an order before printing it.

For managers, there is a rich set of reports that shows a complete picture of restaurant operations and life cycles: menu consumption, reservation frequency, hours of high restaurant load, busiest tables, most active employees, payment methods, and automatic tax calculations. The thing the impressed me the most, was the bill configuration because you have a bill template where you can edit configuration using template syntax. Using syntax is the most powerful feature of bill configuration. Moreover you can use plain text in bill configuration. The layouts of the guest bill can be customized, and the program can be set up for any currencies, taxes and gratuities. Payments can be accepted in cash, by credit cards or by checks.

The user friendly interface makes it very easy to work with. If you are in the restaurant business I think you will agree with me and appreciate this program.
