Pocket A-Z Viewer Publisher's Description The Pocket A-Z Viewer is designed to allow the use of A-Z mapping on a Windows® Mobile-based Pocket PC (version 2002 or later). The Pocket A-Z Viewer comes with demo mapping only. KEY FEATURES
GPS
Connect a GPS receiver to show your location as well as direction and speed of travel.
Automatic map selection
If multiple maps are stored covering the same area, the largest scale map is selected automatically.
High quality maps
Detailed colour maps taken from the original paper version have been used.
Moving around the map
Simply click and drag the stylus on the screen to move the map.
Favourite Places
You can save positions on a map, allowing quick return later, or set a location as your home allowing the map to always start from that location.
Zooming in and out
Enlarge or reduce the map by using the magnifying glass symbols on the toolbar.
Fully Indexed
Lookup or search for a street, district name, station, hospital or selected place of interest in the index and it's position will be shown on-screen. (Stations and Junction indexes only avaliable on selected maps)
Extra Index Information
The index shows additional information, such as postal districts for streets and telephone numbers for hospitals. Stations in the index show whether a mainline rail or underground connection is available. If a street is too small to be shown on the map, it will still be included in the index, with a note showing its location.
Direction Finder
You can use the Pocket A-Z to show the direction of travel from one location to another.
Place the 'person' icon at the start location on the map then place a 'flag' icon at the destination.
Then by clicking the 'show direction' icon an arrow appears indicating the direction of travel required as the crow flies between the two points.
If the map is re-centred whilst travelling, the arrow will re-adjust to show the new direction to the destination.
Additional A-Z maps can be installed without buying the viewer again to provide a useful library of maps.
The Pocket A-Z Viewer is designed for use with a range of Pocket A-Z Maps. It will not display imported maps from other sources.

Windows® Mobile-based Pocket PC (version 2002 or later), Map viewer requires approx. 360KB storage space. Installer requires PC with Windows® 2000 or XP and ActiveSync® connection to Pocket PC.Compatible with GPS receivers that can output NMEA format. Wired, or bluetooth connections supported.
