If you've been looking for quite a while for a really efficient way of inserting text on Pocket PC, our PDAKeyboard will definitely compensate all your efforts up to now.
PDAmedia Keyboard (kbd) is a sip input method that integrates with Pocket PC sip (soft input panel). It is fullskinable and it supports an advanced skin language definition that allows creating skins with a varied functionality including standard skins, full-screen skins as well as multi language skins. The standard package contains a standard kbd skin (that allows introducing small amounts of text), a full-screen skin (that is really convenient for introducing big amounts of text) and a skin that contains Microsoft Excel symbol shortcuts.
The main PDAmedia Keyboard features are:
Skin orientation User suggestion dictionary Color adjustments Full-screen layout Full skinable Multi language support Word suggestion Multiple customizable sip instances Sounds and visualization Automatic clipboard data transfer Double click button protection VGA support Windows Mobile SE support
Full-screen mode:
PDAmedia Kbd supports full-screen skin mode that allows typing large amounts of text. It is extremely convenient because it is located on the entire Pocket PC screen area and it has keys big enough for you to type with your finger-tips. It can be operated with both hands, it clearly increases your typing speed and it can be easily accessed either by pressing the sip input panel button or the full-screen mode button on the standard keyboard (depending on the PDAmedia Kbd configuration).
Sip input panel:
PDAmedia Kbd is a standard Pocket PC input method that integrates with Pocket PC sip (soft input panel). It is developed to integrate with Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system and as a result this allows a smooth communication between the PDAmedia Kbd and any other Pocket PC applications and it also allows you to easily access the PDAmedia Kbd whenever you need it.
Full skinable:
PDAmedia Kbd supports a flexible definition language that allows you to define skins with varied functionality including standard skins (best used for introducing small amounts of texts), full-screen skins (most convenient for introducing big amounts of text) as well as multi language skins. This feature together with the multiple instances feature (see multiple custom sip instances) allows the configuration of several sip input methods (which we will further on call instances). As a result you can have more sip input methods with different functionalities.
Sounds and visualization : The PDAmedia Kbd has key-press highlights and sounds. When you press a key it is highlighted and appears visually pressed. You can also user customize the sounds for every skin.
Word suggestion (For full screen mode) :
One of the new PDAmedia kbd features is word suggestion. While you type PDAmedia Kbd will indicate a number of words from which you can choose the one you need. This allows you to increase the typing speed and reduce the spelling mistakes. The PDAmedia Kbd has several dictionaries from which the English one contains 20.000 words and the Spanish dictionary - 19.000 words. The keyboard uses a small but fast dictionary search engine. It will suggest the words according to a statistical "most frequently used" classification of words in common usage.
Multi Customized Sip Instances :
One of the new and powerful Features is the multiple SIP instances support. It allows configuring several input methods based on PDAmedia Keyboard (eg. You have an English skin that you use all the time and you also have a Spanish skin that you use quite as often. Without multiple instances you would have to make an unpleasant series of clicks to select one of them and then the other. It is definitely a time consuming procedure but multiple instances helps you escape from that hell. All you have to do is to configure a new instance and set the desired skin and configuration. his instance will appear as a new sip method which you can select right from the sip input panel with just one click. You can find out more in "How TO" section.
