Do you need to design banners? Well, if you need an application for designing banners for any purpose, Just Banners may come in handy. It isn't really a professional banner designer's tool, but it has a couple of features which can simplify your work. The program supports animated banners, but you have to draw each frame yourself.
Creating a static banner using this program is quite easy. You have 5 tools which you can use for adding text, graphics, and even Windows controls to your banner. There was a time when adding Windows buttons to a banner meant that your banner will get clicked. You can use 'Just Banners' to add buttons, radio-buttons, drop-downs, and so on. These controls won't work once you add them to the banner, because they are automatically converted into images. However, they look pretty nice on a banner.
You can also add lines and shapes to your banners. It's possible to use the preview window to view how your banner looks like.
Supported export formats include GIF, PNG, PCX, and BMP. A little bug in this software allows you to export the banners you create during the evaluation period. Even though you can't use the File->Export menu, you can click the Export toolbar button in order to be able to Export the banner.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: This program is unstable. Even though it doesn't close itself, it sometimes displays access violation errors. These error messages can be quite annoying, because they appear frequently if you try to add images to your banners.
In conclusion: I'm looking forward to a more stable version of this software.
