Belkasoft Yahoo! Messenger History Extractor Pro 2.01

'Belkasoft Yahoo! Messenger History Extractor Pro' helps you retrieve the history of your messages exchanged over a period of maximum one year.

At least, that is what they advertise. In reality, the trial version doesn't recover more then 10 messages. On top of that, you are advised to create a backup of your messenger profile, because the extractor might crash the instant messenger. We tested the program by choosing the username, selecting the period to "last month", choosing the target format (plain text, but XML and HTML are also available), as well as choosing the option to generate separate files for each contact. Then we selected all the contacts shown by the program.

The program showed 130 messages retrieved from the history. Now, the trial version is supposed to retrieve a maximum of ten messages for every contact. However, the results were quite unsatisfactory, because it detected only three out of five contacts with whom I exchanged messages and one of the contacts had only four messages, instead of dozens of messages. In addition, I can't confirm that the program retrieved all the messages within the past month.

In conclusion: In my opinion, the trial version should be extended to at least several messages over a month, so you can make a real evaluation. Otherwise, this trial edition is of no use.
