 | | X Video Joiner is a program designed to help you stitch video files or to turn a suite of pictures into a presentation.
You can use the program to join two or more video files of the following formats: AVI , MPEG and WMV/ASF. You can also preview the files before joining them, but the program hasn't got an internal viewer: the files will be opened using the default media player on your system. You can choose your output format and favorite codec.
For example, stitching two video files in size of 700 Mb each was a process completed at an average rate of 8 frames per second. In plain English, I can say that the entire process took for about 7 hours using a computer with a 3 GHz Intel Pentium 4 CPU, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card, 1,5 Gb DDR and a 7200 rpm S-ATA Seagate hard-disk. The physical memory usage was satisfactory (60 Mb), whereas the CPU usage was of an average of 50-60 percent. So, I started the process, minimized the program window and got on with my other tasks without my computer slowing down or freezing.
When it comes to creating video presentations using images, the program supports JPG, BMP and GIF graphic file formats. Wen creating a presentation, you can choose the display duration of each picture and you can also add an audio background from file. You can choose the transition type and length and, of course, the output format: AVI (DivX), MPEG (mpeg-1, mpeg22, VCD, SVCD, DVD) and WMV/ASF.
You can run multiple instances of the program, but it is advisable to to that on a very powerful computer, otherwise, your system will be dramatically slowed down.
Pluses:
Drawbacks / flaws: In my opinion, there are too few supported video formats.
In conclusion: A very good video joiner. It would have been excellent if it supported a larger variety of video formats.

I copied a few DVDs and it took about 35 minutes from start to finish for each DVD. I played them on my new HP computer that has the newest DVD+/-R and also in our DVD player in the family room (which is very tempermental) and they work there too. I'm very impressed and will definitely be buying this software. » reply to this review was this review helpful? - report abuse | | | | | Related software downloads for AVI MPEG WMV Joiner 2.0.0.0729 |
