2010 Backgammon 5.02

'2007 Backgammon' is a simple game of backgammon. You can play either with the computer, with a friend, or online. The online mode has a message listed, which tells you that 'you can play backgammon against thousands of players from all over the world'. This is OK until you get in a 'hit-and-run' (also known as 'pick and pass') situation in your home board. There are some variations of backgammon, played in the Middle East, where hit-and-run isn't allowed in the player's home board. However, the standard game has no such restriction, so I think that the game must have a standard play feature. It's odd to play this game only in that 'Middle East' way.

Even if the game features six AI (Artificial Intelligence) levels there isn't much difference between them. I'm an average player, but I was able to win almost every time I played. 'Save' and 'Load' are interesting features, unless the game will offer you the possibility to have a customized user and make statistics for that user I don't see any use for them.

The interface looks good, however there's room for much better. In the option window, the selected options are displayed in blue and they might be difficult to read because of the background.

Pluses: It's free and fun.

Drawbacks / flaws: Created only with the rules for Middle East game.

In conclusion: I enjoyed testing it, but some rules bothered me, especially since they weren't listed in the documentation and I had to search the web in order to find them.
