 | | PDF Image Extractor is an application which can be used to extract images from PDF files.
When you open the program you can see only some buttons: one for opening a PDF, another for exporting the selected image and another for exporting the entire collection of found images. This makes the user interface very easy to use.
I tested this program with several PDF files and it was able to correctly identify and extract the images from them. The user has a lot of export formats available including EPS, JPG, GIF, TIFF, PICT, PNG, BMP and SGI. Nearly every export format has its own options dialog which you can use to adjust the quality of the output pictures. When you export multiple pictures their filename is set by increments, for example: picture1.jpg, picture2.jpg.
Also, the user has the option to print any previously extracted image. However, you can't print multiple images at the same time.
Pluses: Easy to use interface. Supports many export formats.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: This program's usefulness cannot be doubted. I tried by myself lots of times to extract raster images from PDF files with no success at all till I found PDF Image Extractor. Although you have to buy this program, unless you want the word 'demo' repeated on you exported pictures, the application is very good. I think it's worth the money.
