PDF to Word Converter (PDF2Word) 3.01

'PDF to Word Converter' as shown in the title is supposed to help you transform your PDF files into RTF files. This is very useful if you want to copy text from a PDF file. The producer claims that the program can extract, besides text, even 'images and other contents', but when testing the program I've used different PDF files and I couldn't extract the pictures from neither one of them.

When you extract text from a PDF every paragraph is placed in the RTF file as a one line one column table. So, do not expect that the RTF file will look like the PDF one. The trial version can convert maximum 5 pages from a PDF file. The program offers 5 reconstruction modes (combine text blocks automatically, flow text with text boxes, exact mode for reconstruction, flow text without text boxes), or page range for the conversion.

The user interface is very easy to use. You can import a file from the File\Open menu or you can drag and drop it in the program's window. In this window you can see some information for the imported PDF file as name, size, total pages, etc. You'll see also two progress bars to see how much of your file is converted and you can pause the process.

Pluses:

Drawbacks / flaws: The resulted RTF file doesn't look like the original PDF. The text is there but you have to work a little to make it look like a text file and I couldn't extract pictures from PDF.



In conclusion: If you need to copy text from a PDF you might try it.
