EarthBrowser is an Earth simulator using 3D graphics.
It enables the user to move around the globe and see all kinds of information about the weather, prior earthquakes, storms, mountains or even about antarctic icebergs. It also features a relatively simple user interface which can be used to zoom, pan or drag the Earth globe to any area you wish.
The only thing that's missing is a search function to be used for finding a city or state by its name. You can see, however, little yellow dots which represent towns. You can choose to view the weather forecast of each town for the next couple of days just by clicking its name.
By clicking the little clouds button you have the option to turn on or off information about cloud formations and their movement over any part of the world. This program contains satellite imagery updated every three hours.
It's also possible to view the position of volcanoes, information about storms, or the temperature of sea water. There are a lot of webcams available for you to view in realtime. When you register the program you can add your own town to the map or, if you want to, you can add and share webcams.
Pluses: Links to facts about many countries all around the globe.
Drawbacks / flaws: No search by name function is available.
In conclusion: With this program you can move all around the globe, learn geography, access information about towns and places around the world.
