Car Sales Catalog is a complex sales-management application. It is well structured, so it gives a car dealer easy access to information about sales and inventories. The only secret with this program is not to get scared of by its complexity. I nearly gave up on it a couple of times, but in the end, I was glad I didn't.

First thing you want to do, when starting the application for the first time, is load the "CarCatalogActive" or the "CarCatalogSold" databases. These databases contain sample items, which help you understand how the program works. On the left side, you see a list of the records in the database. When you select a record from the list, it will be displayed on the right. Everything is simple, but since I'm not in the field, it took me a while to understand fully this software.

The program provides countless advanced features. You can import and export databases, filter records, create reports, perform database maintenance tasks, and so on. Among the most important features, I would like to mention the multi-user system. You can activate this mode from the options menu. That way each user has different access rights. You may want to block certain people from viewing or modifying the information provided by this program.

Pluses: If you access the publisher's "Online Tutor" for this software, you can find templates of other types of databases. For example, you could load a database template, which contains the fields required to index songs, movies, recipes, books, or stamps. These templates turn "Car Sales Catalog Deluxe" into a management application for virtually any items you can think of.
