| | Did you ever try to find a stand-alone application which would play SWF Flash files? Now, there are lots of free flash players, but this one somehow stands out from the crowd.
Flash Player XP is a stand-alone, fully featured player. You can use it to view both online and offline content. In order to view online SWF files, you need to type the URL and Flash player XP will open it for you. You also have the option of downloading the file on to your computer before viewing it.
The interface is very nice as it also includes an 'Explorer' section which contains a folder tree and shortcuts to the cache of your Web browsers, favorites section and online games. The program remembers the last opened folder and you can associate SWF files to be opened by default with flash player XP. SWF animations or movies can be payed/paused, you can step forward, step backward, zoom in and out or play in fullscreen. While playing, the program will display the size, frames, quality and loaded percentage of the loaded file.
Pluses: It plays both online and ofline content; you can use it to take screenshots; you can add popular items to a list of favorites.
Drawbacks / flaws: Cannot play FLV files.
In conclusion: A fully featured and competitive SWF Flash player. Although it's free you will be encouraged to purchase the Pro version.
