I remember back in the day when my parents had their old reel home movies converted to VHS tape. The process was long, involved, and expensive. The movies, mostly from 1950-blah-blah-blah, were in both black and white and color; but all were silent. The conversion company took all of the movies and set them to an appropriate musical audio track. I’m certain my parents still have the tape sitting around somewhere.
Today, it’s a little easier to take home video. Heck, even your cell phone likely has a still as well as a video camera built into it. However, getting them to a viewable state from TV set to TV set isn’t always as easy as it might sound. We’re still reliant upon set top players to get access to home movies, until WinX DVD Author.
