| I LIKE IT ! It's a GREAT game IDE for PalmOS ! And It's Fun to Use The development environment is easy to use. The practice game that is included is unlocked, and can be changed. You can vary the script. Which is good, because developers could then put in their own native languages for the characters to use. The sample grahics are cool, and you can add more, which too, is great! The base characters can be swapped out, the bad guy's also. It it very expandable. The main IDE resides on the device, but all your games and the sample graphics can be stored on your external memory card. Any new games (Projects) you build will go there too. To me this is a really good idea as it leaves me a lot of working space on my Palm. I don't know yet if the games are independent of the 'Let's make RPG' IDE or not as I am still playing with it. I haven't totally plummed it's depths, and explored all the mapping of 'Let's make RPG' yet; but I really like it. So much so that I am trying to purchase it. I am perfectly willing to pay the $19.95 to be able to fully utilize it capabilities without it being broken. But, after over a month, from several sources, I have yet to find some one who can give me the registration code. Or, who is even able to take my money to do so. Without this code, one cannot save a game in-progress. I want to be able to save my games when I leave them, to pick them up right where I left off ... and not having to start the adventure from the beginning again. That can get real tiresome. If one minor problem, at least for me, where fixed, this great little Game Development program would have been marked "EXCELLENT" straight across the board. I had to mark "Ease of Use" and "Interface" down one mark to 'Very Good' because when you are in the character status screen, and making tweaks, you can NOT hit the exit button if you do not own a registered copy of this program. Hitting the exit button does not just take you out of the character status screen, it takes you out of the game you were in, which may have been why you were updating that character's abilities in the first place. And, if you were in a game, and progressing well along, you now have to start fresh, because games of unregistered users do not have an automatic 'save' capability. Nor can unregistered users intentionally save a gave they are playing, which could come in handy ... especially the way I play games, even the ones I write. Like I said at the beginning, this is a neat, fun little program. I like the fact that I can do game building on my Palm TX. The graphics are cool, It's fast, and it's easy to use. I just wish I could buy it. » reply to this review was this review helpful? - report abuse 180 of 359 users found this review helpful | | | | | | Displaying: 1-1 from 1 | 1 | Related software downloads for Let's make RPG 1.05 |
