Issues with VTP Tried this program as it was recommened to get the "feel" of what vista is like ,,,, Installation went pretty smoothly . Ease of use and features ..not the greatest as you DO need to install quite a few "other" 3rd party programs to appreciate it ..and that cause ALOT of processor and ram usage . Has a MAJOR unistallation issue ...short of Reformatting or Repairing to a stable environment IF you are not prepared to do so you will be UNpleasantly surprised .. your system will NOT be the same when you TRY to uninstall this program...contrary to what is said on the messagebaords of the makers of the program. Support for that particular issue is almost NON EXISTANT on the messageboard...besides what sems tobe a standard "canned" Repair/Restore answer. For what its worth WAIT till vista comes out in Final Retail Release and if you can get it do so if you are really wanting all the bells and whistles associated with the Vista release...its worth the wait .
I dont know about the uninstallation part of your review. I installed this on my laptop (PIII 500mhz, 512mb ram, 8mb video ram) and for such low system specs, much to my surprise, it installed smoothly, and worked fine. But when it didn't seem to be 100% compatible with Windows Media Player in full screen mode (the start button would appear and disrupt my movies). So I uninstalled it, and the uninstallation went very smoothly. It took a few restarts to get the XP boot screen back to normal, and after re-applying the XP theme and restarting it, my icons were back to normal aswell.
